This year, Tanzania and the World Bank will sign a loan agreement worth TZS 277.2 billion for the construction of a bridge in Dar es Salaam’s Jangwani area.

The 390-meter-long bridge will address flooding issues in the Msimbazi River Basin.

The project is expected to cost $276 billion when completed.

The project is currently in the planning stages; it will include the construction of a new bridge as well as the extension of the river at the bottom from Kawawa Road to Selander Bridge to allow for easy flow of rainwater into the Indian Ocean.
